Malak was supposed to get one short story. That's it. Next thing I knew he'd wheedled a novel out of me.

Now the bloodthirsty little beast has driven me to commit 20 pages of potential sequel. Darn him...

Oh, writing them when they're "burning hot" like this is fun. It's just that I had no intention of writing a sequel until I found a home for the first one.

It would make more sense to write a sequel to "Between Worlds," and I did start one, but the villain refused to come together, and now it's 2 more books (in 2 separate universes later), and I'd have to force myself back into that one while Malak's still got his teeth in me. (So to speak. ;))

Ah, it must be love *g*. I think though, that if you have a really great character who won't let you go and for whom you never run out of stories for, well, this is actually a good thing. Yes, I can see that it would feel as if you were in the hands of a bully, but really, you've got a great gift there. In a manner of speaking :)
