Well, the main demon story is off in search of a home, so that should unclutter things for awhile.

Whoo ooo!!!

Congratulations!!!

So, if this is the MAIN demon story, what is the NOT-MAIN demon story like?

Thanks!

Well, I wrote a story that wasn't that great in itself, but I really liked the main character, so I wrote a longer (and I hope better) story about him. That's the Main Demon story.

Malak, the main character, is half serpent demon and half seraph. He was so much fun to write about that the Main Demon Story spawned 3 "Not-Main" sequels, and I'm toying with a Prologue too. There's almost enough for a novelette. I figure what I'll do with it all demends on if anyone likes the Main Demon Story.

Wow - very cool!

I like angelic demon stories. I have a novel titled "Never Trust An Angel" ::grins:: I should dust that thing off and finish the end (which was its weakness) I solved the ending about 2 years ago but I haven't gone back to add it to the story. Hmmm

BTW: I wouldn't wait for people to like the Main Demon Story - Simply go for it. If you like it, then it is valid and eventually all the bits you do globally will make sense.

Sounds like a book I'd enjoy.

The thing is, the later stories all build on the Main one, so if I can't find a home for the main one I'm not sure the others would makes sense alone. That's the main point in favor of turning them into a novelette.

I've never been into demon stories before, but these were just too darn much fun to write. ;) I don't know why; they're dark, violent...but Malak's so darned SWEET! (And he'd devour me alive for saying that, too.)

Well, you never know how such things will work - you might sell all of them at the same time to one source who wants to do them serialized or something - life in publishing is so weird and unpredictable

That would be wonderful! Who knows...?

I've found stuff written years ago that suddenly fits with something I wrote recently too -

And then a couple months back I woke up WAY too early and had a complete download on one of my favorite alien novels - musey gave me a whole section as a short story and a second bit the next night for a second story. I ended up writing all day and you know how hard it is to deliver an alien story in a short format. But the last time I wrote on the novel both stories are from - was about 10 years ago. That was a real eye opener for me on how the brain works.

Actually, all my alien stories have been short. (Mostly because they've been for Drabble contests.)
Isn't the brain a fascinating thing?

I've never successfully written a drabble. I barely get down to flash size most of the time.

I can't imagine trying to cram one of my aliens into that small a space - they would look like my clothing, bulgy all over...::grins::

Sounds like my clothing, too. ;)

I guess I'm just more into Fantasy, so that's where my bigger ideas go. Although, come to think of it, my one pro sale so far was a long story about aliens. It just wasn't very "hard SF-ish."

Well, I don't know enough real science to do real hard SF - I do the handwavium kind of SF with only the occasional careful foray into the real deal.

I did the real deal for a short short I submitted to PARSEC but it was a bit agonizing to make sure I didn't put a single word wrong or in a way that COULD be misconstrued.

I think my SF so far has all been handwavium-I'm one of the few people in my family who ISN'T an engineer, so I just strive for plausibilty in my fictional science.

I agree - plausibility is a good thing...a good goal too!

And about as close to Real Science as I usually get.

:fingers crossed: I'd be stunned if I actually made a sale to ROF, but I have to try.
Yeah, I just missed the train. Maybe I'll get a Christmas present...? ;)
