Lucid waking?
Oct. 21st, 2006 08:44 amI envy my husband. He's a computer repairman and a lucid dreamer. When he has a sticky problem, he can bring it into a dream and work it out in ways he couldn't while waking. He's tried to teach me, but the best I've managed to produce is a "nightmare escape switch."
I've been trying all week to dream about my half-demon story, because I've reached a point where Malak's realized he's outlived the useful lifespan of a demon, but he may live for centuries yet and he doesn't know, or maybe even want, to live like a seraph, and he doesn't know where he's going next.
And to be honest, neither did I! I've been wrestling with this all week, and trying to "prime the pump" before night, but I don't have my husband's skill.
Then, this morning, just before I woke up, something interrupted the dream in progress and gave me a few seconds of insight-a completely unrxpected direction, something I hadn't considered. I'll have to kill off a character, but it might work!
