Time and Space

I think I've hit upon at least one problem with this novel ending. Several years pass, and the main characters are miles away from the rest of "civilisation." The ending feels separated from the rest of the book.

Well, that's something. I'm not sure what to do about it-one character has to be an outcast, and the other has to have time to age a bit-but at least I know where this vague dissatisfaction's coming from. I just fave to figure out how to make the gaps less jarring-more of a passage than a gap.
