The danger of leaving the house today...

...with a copy of HP 7 visible in my scooter basket. I was practically mugged. ;)

Kids ran up to me shouting "That's Number Seven!" One enthusiastic boy so wanted to show his siblings that he almost carried it off. An older woman recognized it instantly. One teenaged girl's face lit up at the sight of it. We were all in on the secret, sharers of a moment. I've never been part of something quite like this before. And it was all about a book. How wonderful!

(I've finished it, BTW. Page by page, the moment will pass. May the love of reading go on.)

Okay, now that is one of the coolest Book 7 posts I've seen in the past couple of days.

And then those kids ran off to play in the sandbox, shouting "The alien spaceship is landing!" It's a new generation of SF+F fans! ;)

There were about half a dozen of them, mostly boys, all horsing around together-I kept imagining them as a set of Weasleys, only dark-skinned instead of red-headed. ;)

Cute! Oh, I am going to miss waiting for a new Harry Potter book to come out every two years or so. :(
