O-kay, now what?

Well, I got all worked up for nothing, at least as far as hernia surgery goes. I CAN’T have it. The esophageal varicies contraindicate it. (Basically, the veins in my throat are like water balloons. Stick a needle in ‘em, and SPLOOSH!) I shill have to get an abscessed tooth dealt with, but that takes a lot less recovery time!

'Course, I'm stuck with the hernia...

Man.........I don't know if I should congratulate you or not! I'm glad you don't have to have hernia surgery, but not glad you are stuck with the hernia. Is there another way to get rid of it?

Not that I know of, but if I lose weight and watch what I eat, and keep taking anti-reflux meds, it may be controllable.

Yeah, I don't know what to say. Good?

I'm so very sorry you're having these challenges! It sounds awful. I'm rooting for a solution somewhere . . . naturopathy?

Thanks, everybody!
Technically, I'm in great shape for the shape I'm in. ;) The hernia's quieted down, and although my liver's scarred, it's working.

My doctor's way of summing it up: "I won't do that surgery until you have a liver transplant, and I plan to be out of your life long before you get to that point."

Of course, he's 74...

I see him Tuesday. We'll see what he says. Nothing seems very urgent at the moment, though.
