We have our tree up! Our tree is a hodgepodge of ornaments of all sizes, placed however suits our fancy among as many lights as we can cram on. It's got beautiful glass balls given to us by a friend, the plastic Lifesaver chain I bought with my allowance when I was about 8, a tiny doll from Japan, a Snoopy from a chocolate box, a zillion cat ornaments, Jean Luc Picard, a stained glass angel, my husband's Snapple lights...Nothing's coordinated, it's chintzy as all get out, and we love it! ;)

Anybody else have a Christmas tree "style," or a favorite ornament?

I haven't actually put up my tree for several years but think I may this year. It is tall (over 10 feet) and it's an angel tree. Basically I have a ton of clear, white, soft pink, soft purple and dark wine/purple ornaments with a rather large/interesting collection of angels mixed in. It is generally a WOW type of tree.

Sounds gorgeous! 10 feet? That woulsn't even fit in our house!

If our trees tend toward anything, it's "Cats & candy." We have a couple of angels, too.

I do something different every year, Last year was colored plastic cookie cutters on ribbons and clear-wrapped homemade cookies with a snowflake star.

This year I found a use for all those con badges and ribbons. Question: what is the perfect tree topper for a science fiction convention tree? Hmmm.

Something that looks like a Hugo award.

A Con tree-I love it! Have you got a picture?

We put our tree up the day after Thanksgiving instead of heading to the mall like the rest of the world. Since we have a teen-aged cat this year, we opted for non-breakables on the tree. We have 50 gold/silver/blue/green stars, wooden reindeer/santas/bears/bunnies, and lots of multi-colored lights. We still have our angel on the treetop, but only her head would break if the tree fell. So far, the tree has not tumbled. Yesterday, however, I did find Alfie (the cat) laying on a branch very close to the tree top. She was eyeing the red cardinal ornament that is one of my favorites. I gently pulled her out and talked to her a little harshly. I was afraid she really would pull the tree down if I used the water gun. Merry Christmas!

Our cats hate Tree Season, because they've had to sleep downstairs ever since we caught Alias trying to eat the tree and Finder in it. We DID squirt him. All that fell were a few ornaments.

Your tree sounds like ours! Christmas trees have always been less a matter of tastefully themed decoration for us, and more a matter of a place to hang memories for a month or so. Except we haven't put ours up yet....

By the by, I found your logue through J. Cheney's, and I've added you to my friend's list...I thought I'd mention it, since it always makes me nervous when someone I don't know adds me to their list. :-)
