"The Measure Of A Man) (Working title, AKA "Grant's Book," "The Beans Novel" and "The Giant Novel") is done, formatted and off to its first intended victim...er, potential publisher.

Now to wait...

In the meantime, choices. I could:

Work on the sequel to Between Worlds (which has well-defined heroes, but still lacks its major Bad Guy.)

Turn the Demon Stories into a book.

Dig out another fairy-tale novel that I started years ago and play with it, in the thin hope that DAW will like this book and want more, similar.

Write shorts for a while.

Or watch TV...;)

Thanks! Man, I'm nervous now...

(This one was the reason I was asking about circus wagons. ;))

Are you saying I should go check my plumbing instead...? ;)

Actually, I DID have to call a plumber this weekend. And today my car got rear-ended. So, I'm glad I accomplished something positive! ;)

I am glad (I hope) that everyone is alright. I'm also glad you got to accomplish something good. All I did was getting the car washed, laundry done and groceries bought. And no book done.

Though I did play with art.

That's a lot of work done, writing or not.

I was astonished that there was no damage to either car. My husband got bruised from his shoulder strap, and I suspect I have a very mild concussion, but neither car was going very fast, thank goodness!

I'd highly suggest NOT working on the sequel. I did this with my first novel and it's a waste of time, because if the first novel does not sell, you can't sell the sequel, AND you can't sell anything else because you spent all your time working on the sequel.

No sequels.

In fact, pick out something totally different from what you just sent out. I sent an epic fantasy, so started working on a supernatural horror novel (after I figured out that writing the sequel was a waste of time of course).

Whoops, I wasn't clear. Between Worlds is my published book. I came up with the start of a sequel (and a miniscule bit of a prequel) years ago, but put it aside for exactly the reasons you mentioned. A couple of people are urging me to go back to it, but the Bad Guys haven't come clear.

The only thing any of the projects have in common with the book that just went out is that one is also based on a (different) fairy tale.

I suspect the demons are the best bet-the work's half done, and I have a place in mind to send it. It just means fixing that blasted POV problem.
Fun! ;)
