A really nice compliment from The First Line.

I just got my contributor's copy of "The Best of The First Line, Editors' Picks 2002-2006," and the blurb before my story says
"...Melissa, one of the first writers we published, is a pro at retold (fairy) tales, and 'Jewels and Cinders' is one of my favorites."

Wow. I've actually been called a pro at something. By an editor. A long-time editor. And I do love retold fairy tales. Wow!

And we're sharing a TOC! ;D It looks nice-it's got the past lines on the back. No title on the front, which is weird, but oh well. And Jennifer Schwabach has a story in there too. ;D

Which of your stories did they pick?

"Jewels and Cinders."
Made me wish I had the reprint rights to stories from after 2002, so I could offer "Olive Branch" to AnthologyBuilder and maybe have that see print again too. And "Written Ones" and "Swimming Upstream"-I'm particularly fond of those also.
