Yesterday I went for an X-ray. While parking my scooter in the waiting room, I noticed a little girl, about 2 years old or so, watching me, all curiosity.
"Is this a good place to park?" I asked her.
She shook her head an emphatic No. "Go here," she said, directing me into a spot next to her chair. It was different from the other chairs in the room-like a little throne on a box. She had to climb to get into it. She got down to make sure I backed up properly, then said "I'll go up here so I won't be scared," and climbed back onto the chair.
"Why? Am I scary?"
"Yeah," she said.
(Within two minutes she and her little sister were playing with all the bells and whistles (well, lights and horns) on my scooter, and their mother was looking chagrined but amused. ;))
